Effective Monday, August 13, 2018, Charlie Conrad is now the Club Manager and chief director of the Redwood Bridge Club games. For the time being there will be no lesson on Monday, but this may change. Game times will continue to be 11:30 on Mondays and 11:15 on Wednesdays. Eventually, we'll start these games at the same time. A new monthly schedule will be distributed at both games and on the Unit 500 website.
Please check the Special Events Calendar as there have been several added NAP qualifiers and STaC games thru the end of the month.
Also note that RBC and HBC will be closed at the end of the month for the Santa Clara Regional.
Special Unit Game (view flyer)
At 11:30am on Sunday, August 26th, at Redwood (Aitken Center), an Italian lunch will be followed by a STaC game (hi ho Silver). Hope to see you all there.
Local Tournaments This Month
- August 18-19 San Mateo County Summer Sectional, Redwood City
- August 28 - September 3 All Western Regional, Santa Clara
On Saturday, August the 25th, the last Saturday before the Santa Clara Regional, the Bayshore Bridge Club will once again hold the annual Maye Soules Memorial game. It has had a very successful run over the last 14 years, but the 15th anniversary will be a little different. There will still be a Club Championship, Barometer, hand records, a separate section for I/N players, Stratified seeding and Trophies for overall winners, plus a fantastic meal. However this year we will not just toast Maye but we will be honoring the memories of Harvey Brody and Tom Quinlan who we unfortunately lost earlier this year. They were not just great friends of Maye, but very dear to many in the bridge community. Please join us to celebrate their lives and share some great memories as this will be the last tribute game. Lunch begins at 11:45 a.m. and the game starts at 1:00 p.m. Please RSVP by August the 16th. We hope to see you there. It should be a great time.
Table Talk is on Summer Break.
